Have you ever thought about the various types of status updates you could post to your Facebook page or profile to create an engaging conversation with your friends and followers of your page?
Are you lacking in the creativity department to come up with newly innovative ideas to take your “friend/fan engagement” to a new level?
If you answered yes to either one of these questions you are in luck because in this post I am going to make your job 100x easier because I am going to give you some ideas to implement in less than 2 minutes!
Most people when they post status updates do so in a very un-strategic manner…and then wonder why no one engages with them and their posts. While there are many factors in the Facebook ecosystem that are the cause of this, more times than not it is the content of the updates that gets people to act or not.
Below are 7 specific status update frameworks you can swipe from me to use for your own status updates and Facebook fan posts. I have used many of these over the years, and normally get a great response following these specific strategies.
1) The “Fill in The Blank” Status Update
When using this status update you want to make sure your post is formatted in the specific way shown below.
—-
*FILL IN THE BLANK*
“What I love most about my life is ____________”
—-
2) The “Question of The Day Status Update
When using this status update you want to make sure your post is formatted in the specific way shown below.
—-
*QUESTION OF THE DAY*
“What do you love most about your Apple iPhone?”
—-
3) The “Inspirational Quote” Status Update
Quotes are always positive things to post, especially when they really strike a chord with your audience. Format it this way.
—-
QUOTE OF THE DAY
“To be or not to be, that is the question.”
What are your thoughts on this quote? How does this quote apply to your life right now? <–this creates engagement in the status update and inspires people to comment.
—-
4) Share a Link and Ask For Their Opinion
Sharing interesting and valuable content is the best part about using social media to engage with your audience. The conversations on pieces of content are really interesting, and most of the time teach you something that you may not have known about the particular issue brought up in the article. This also helps your audience get the same experience too!
Format this update like this.

What Do You Think About This News/Article?
My Take: (Insert your brief opinion here)
[CLICKABLE LINK IN FACEBOOK] <–modify the title if necessary to inspire more clicks
—-
5) The “Press The Like Button If” Status Update
This is a great way to get your posts and personal brand to the top of the newsfeed very quickly because the with the increased velocity of likes on the update will push it to the front of the newsfeed faster than traditional posts that you make.
—-
Press the like button if you are having a fantastic day, and are excited about the future and where it is heading for you and your life.
—
The more you can angle the status update toward your product/services, the better response you will get…but again, you will have to experiment with it as there is no one size fits all solution for your personal social media accounts.
6) Post an Engaging Quote As A Photo
When you hit the home run with this, not only is your picture pushed to the front of the newsfeed, but even better it is shared around Facebook which exposes your profile and/or fan page to an entirely new audience. I recently did this and had over 40+ likes, and 10+ shares of my quote that I posted in a matter of 24 hours.

7) Your Own Customized Poll
Using polls with your audience is an effective way to get their direct feedback in an instantaneous manner.
Here is how to format it.
—-
POLL: What headline do you like best?
(Please press the like button in the comment below that you think is the best one of the bunch. Please only pick once. Thank you in advance for your help)
—-
Comment 1: Headline 1
Comment 2: Headline 2
Comment 3: Headline 3
With this update you need to have your headlines in there as soon as you post the update to make sure that no one leaves a comment before you finish posting the updates in the comment stream.
So there you have it! Have fun with this!
